Patna: Senior BJP leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda, defence minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath addressed a series of rallies for the NDA candidates in Bihar.While BJP had a strike rate of 95% in winning, leading 89 out of the 101 seats, PM Modi had a strike rate of 91% for the NDA candidates as he addressed 14 rallies and held one roadshow in Patna.Though the BJP leaders covered several constituencies while addressing rallies at the district headquarters, their appeal succeeded in galvanising the party cadres and workers, who ensured the record turnout of voters at their booths resulting in the alliance’s landslide victories.
NDA won 202 seats and was leading in one when the last report came till late Friday evening.PM Modi addressed 14 rallies and held one roadshow in Patna during his seven visits to the state during electioneering. The places he visited had a massive voter turnout like in Samastipur (71.74%), Begusarai (69.87%), Muzaffarpur (71.81%), Chhapra (63.86%), Nawada (57.86), Ara (59.90%), Katihar (79.10%), Saharsa (69.38%), Bhagalpur (67.75%), Araria (70.62%), Bhabua (68.57%), Aurangabad (65.47%), Bettiah (71.38%), Sitamarhi (67.21%) and Patna (59.02%).
BJP had a vote share of 20.07% compared to allies JD(U)’s 19.26%, and LJP(RV)’s 4.98%.Union home minister addressed 36 rallies in Sasaram, Saran, Arwal, Supaul, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Samastipur, Vaishali, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Motihari, Supaul, Purnia and Munger.UP CM Yogi addressed 30 rallies in Motihari, Gaya, Pipra, Araria, Siwan, Raxaul, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Gopalganj, Sitamarhi, Patna and Saharsa and held a roadshow in Darbhanga.
