Leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are engaged in a key huddle in New Delhi to mark 12 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led regime at the Centre and celebrate his achievement as India’s longest-serving elected head of government, surpassing the record set by the country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.
As the Prime Minister arrived at Bharat Mandapam, he was felicitated by BJP’s national president, Nitin Nabin and N Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a key ally of the NDA.
Aside from PM Modi, cabinet ministers who are attending the NDA meeting at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam are: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan, among others.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, TDP Chief and Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu and several Chief Ministers from the NDA-ruled states arrived at the meeting venue to review the government’s performance over the past 12 years and draw the coalition’s roadmap for future.

The meeting comes against the backdrop of completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
In a post on ‘X’, PM Modi on Wednesday underlined the achievements of the BJP-led NDA’s government, saying: “The past 12 years of our government have been dedicated to trust, development, and public welfare. With the blessings of 1.4 billion fellow citizens and the spirit of nation first, we have spared no effort in empowering our youth, women, and our farmer brothers and sisters."

“It is the result of these tireless efforts that today, from infrastructure to the digital revolution, the country has gained a new identity on the global stage. To realize the resolve of a developed India, we will continue to move forward relentlessly on this path of service, good governance, and prosperity", he added.
PM Modi — who assumed charge as the Prime Minister on May 26, 2014 — has completed 4,399 days at the helm, surpassing Nehru’s record as the head of an elected government.
As the NDA government marked its 12 years in office, congratulatory messages from the country and across the world poured in, as several world leaders joined in conveying their greetings to the Prime Minister.
