Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a brief visit to Tripura on September 22 to inaugurate expanded facilities at the Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, headquarters of Gomati district.

Officials said on Thursday (September 18, 2025) that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the redevelopment and expansion project at the Tripura Sundari Temple, one of 51 Shakti Peethas in India founded by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 1501. The Central Government has funded the project.
The development also aims to boost religious tourism, the official added. Civic amenities, lodging, restrooms, parking lots, an open gallery, and eateries have been created as part of the project.
The Chief Minister also inspected a helipad built at the OTPC Power Project in Palatana. The Prime Minister is scheduled to land at MBB Airport in Agartala, from where he will fly to Udaipur by helicopter.
The Prime Minister will not address an audience but will offer prayers at the temple.
