Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat's Ekta Nagar (Kevadia) on Thursday and Friday to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. During the two-day visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 1,220 crore, introducing 24 new attractions and facilities in the Statue of Unity area.
According to officials, projects worth Rs 600 crore will be inaugurated, while new initiatives estimated at Rs 620 crore will see their foundation stones laid.
On the evening of Thursday, PM Modi will visit the Statue of Unity and inaugurate 15 new projects and facilities developed at a cost of Rs 600 crore. Prominent among these are the new building of Birsa Munda University, 3-star and 4-star hotels, Walkway Phase 2 from Ekta Dwar to Narmada Mata statue, Smart Bus Stop Phase 2, Bonsai Garden among other facilities.
The inauguration will also include the introduction of 25 new electric buses for the region.
In addition, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for new projects worth Rs 681 crore on October 31. Among them is the Veer Balak Udyan, a Rs 90-crore project dedicated to showcasing stories of child heroes from across India through interactive exhibits and a landscaped forest. The park is expected to be completed by March 2026.
Another highlight is the Royal Kingdom of India Museum, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 367.25 crore and targeted for completion by May 2027. The museum aims to highlight the contributions of various Indian rulers who played key roles in the nation’s unification.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Gujarat Vandana Museum, a new Visitor Centre for tourists costing Rs 100 crore, and a sports complex in Ekta Nagar to be built at a cost of Rs 23 crore.
These additions are expected to enhance the overall tourist experience and solidify Ekta Nagar’s position as a premier destination celebrating India’s unity, heritage, and development.
