POCSO Act case accused sustains hip fracture while jumping off Erode court building

ERODE: A man facing a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act case sustained a hip fracture when he tried to escape by jumping off the first floor of the Erode district court complex on Thursday.

The Erode district police brought R Karthik, 37, to the POCSO Act court on Thursday. While waiting in the court corridor, Karthik suddenly jumped off the first floor of the building to flee. "When he landed on the ground, he suffered a hip fracture and was unable to escape," said an officer at the Erode town police station.The police rescued him and admitted him to Erode Government Hospital for treatment, where his condition is reported to be stable.A case has been registered.
