A police constable was injured in an attack by unidentified people with a sharp weapon in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur on Monday (June 23, 2025), the police said. The police suspect the role of Maoists behind the act.
The injured security personnel has been identified as Santu Potam. “Potam was attacked by unknown persons with a sharp weapon in the market of village Padeda under Bijapur police station area,” said a police officer.
The officer added that when the matter was reported, a team of police force was immediately dispatched to the spot. “The injured jawan has been brought to the District Hospital Bijapur where his treatment is going on,” the officer said.
Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) P. Sundarraj said that the police suspected the role of Maoists because the modus operandi in the crime was similar to theirs.
