The Bachupally Police have detained a Nepal native in connection with the murder of a woman, whose body was found in a bag at a construction site near Vijaya Durga Owners Association Colony in Bachupally.
Investigation revealed that the man who purchased the bag, 33-year-old Vijay Toppa, a native of Nepal and an employee at the passport office in Hyderabad, had used it to dispose of her body after murdering her. The victim was identified as Tara Bohra, also from Nepal.
According to Bachupally Police Inspector J. Upender Rao, the two were in a relationship. While Vijay was unmarried, Tara was married and a mother of two children, who were living in Nepal. She was also one month pregnant at the time of the incident.
“An argument broke out between them over the pregnancy at their residence in Indiramma Colony, Bowrampet. In a fit of rage, Vijay strangled her to death,” the officer said. He then purchased a new trolley bag, stuffed her body inside, and dumped it in an open area. Vijay was detained a day after the body was discovered. Further investigation is ongoing.
