Deputy Inspector-General of Police, North Eastern Region, Shantanu Sinha has praised the service rendered by brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives while discharging official duty and said that police personnel have to work selflessly in order to protect the public round the clock.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Police Commemoration Day celebrations in Yadgir on Tuesday.
Police personnel have to face many challenges while on duty and serving the people. “You need to get guidance from your superior officers and extend the service accordingly. Apart from public service, you need to give time for your family members to balance both official duty and personal life,” he said.
Praying for martyred police officers and personnel, he said that the sacrifices of such brave people will always be remembered. He appealed to the staff members of the department not to embarass higher officers and also the department by doing wrong while on duty.
Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar said that 10 Indian CRPF Jawans and Assistant Commandant Karansingh sacrificed their lives confronting the Chinese army personnel at the Aksai Chin border on October 21, 1959, and since then, this day has been celebrated as Police Commemoration Day to remember their sacrifices.
Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar and CEO Lavish Ordia also spoke.
Police personnel opened three rounds of fire in the air to honour the brave police personnel and army jawans.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bharat Kumar Talawar and Nagaraj, Police Inspector Sunil Kumar, Sub-Inspector Manjegouda, Manjula, retired police officers and other citizens participated.
