The Museum police are set to intensify their probe into the two cases involving Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actor G. Krishnakumar and his daughter Diya’s jewellery outlet in the city.

While the duo have been accused of abduction, harassment and extortion, they have accused three former employees of misappropriating funds to the tune of nearly ₹69 lakh.

Mr. Krishnakumar claimed that the staff had swindled Ms. Diya after purportedly swapping QR codes in the shop and redirecting payments to their personal accounts during her absence over several months.

However, the former employees, Vineetha, Divya and Radha Kumar, said that their personal bank accounts had been used for business transactions on Diya’s request, allegedly to evade taxes. They also claimed that they were subjected to casteist abuses.

Official sources said that the bank statements of all involved in the cases will be scrutinised to unravel the truth. Preliminary findings have revealed certain suspicious transactions, they said. CCTV clips were also being examined to trace the movements of the accused.
