Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated Indian Oil’s LPG bottling plant in Chittoor, virtually from Kurnool.
Developed at a cost of ₹200 crore, the facility had a bottling capacity of 60,000 MT per annum and would serve over 7.2 lakh consumers through 80 distributors across parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, a press release from According the IOCL said.
Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan were present.
At the plant site, MP D. Prasada Rao, MLA K. Murali Mohan, and District Collector Sumit Kumar joined the Indian Oil officials to witness the live telecast of the inauguration.
The facility would strengthen LPG supply infrastructure in southern India and support the government’s clean energy goals, the officials said.
