Private school correspondent in Rayavaram, arrested for raping minor

RAJAHMUNDRY: A private school correspondent has been accused of impregnating Class 10 student in Konaseema district.Akumarthi Jaya Raj, a private school correspondent in Rayavaram mandal, allgedly assaulted a minor girl from the same school over the past few months.One day, he asked the girl to get a file from the staff room and allegedly grabbed her from behind before sexually assaulting her. He reportedly repeated the abuse several times and threatened her not to tell her parents.The parents identified some physical changes their daughter’s body. They took the girl to the doctor, who told them she was pregnant. Rayavaram police have booked a case under POCSO Act. The police has taken the accused into the custody and will produce him before the court.
