Strongly condemning the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge’s remarks about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the former Kalaburagi MP Umesh Jadhav alleged that Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge is deliberately speaking against the patriotic organisation like the RSS to conceal his administrative failures and the stagnation of the developmental works in the district.

Addressing presspersons in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday Dr. Jadhav said that Mr. Priyank Kharge’s statement about RSS had hurt the sentiments of people of the nation. Highlighting the contributions of RSS to nation-building, Dr. Jadhav stated that “RSS is the foremost organisation that stands ready to serve the nation on the ground whenever a calamity strikes the country.

Dr. Jadhav dared Congress leaders, who were criticising the RSS organisation, to show a single treasonous conduct by its volunteers.

“If Mr. Priyank Kharge and other Congress leaders have ideological disagreement with the RSS, then they should openly announce their refusal to accept votes from RSS supporters and those raising slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, he expressed.

 Focus of District’s development

Instead of confining his Kalaburagi visits to press conference; Mr. Kharge should realise his responsibilities as district in charge Minister and focus on addressing the issues in the district. Not conducting the DISHA and Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meetings regularly is hampering the progress of the district, in the last two-and-a-half years; he has chaired a single KPD meeting, while MP Radhakrishna Doddamani has not held a single DISHA meeting, he alleged.

Former legislator Rajkumar Patil Telkur demanded the resignation of Mr. Kharge charging him with failure to tackle the flood situation in Kalaburagi district. Recent floods have left farmers in a precarious position, facing extensive crop and livestock losses and financial hardship, the Minister should focus on these issues instead of speaking about RSS to gain political mileage and appease the Congress high Command.

“ If Mr. Kharge and the Congress-led government cannot take any action against those raising slogans in favour of Pakistan, they do not have moral rights to talk about the RSS,” Mr. Telkur expressed.

Recently a librarian from Sedam taluk has ended her life for non-payment of salary and harassment by officials, Mr. Kharge should take action against those responsible for her extreme step. He also demanded the suspension of the Taluk Executive Officer, Panchayat Development Officer, and also the police officials who allegedly tried to hide the death note recovered from the scene.

Mr. Kharge must be harboring hopes of becoming Deputy Chief Minister or Chief Minister in the predicted November Revolution, which is why he is stooping to such strategies and speaking against RSS organisation, Mr. Telkur quipped.

MLA Basavaraj Mattimod, Avinash Jadhav, former legislator Dattatraya Patil Revoor, former Minister Baburao Chavan, former MLC Amarnath Patil were present.
