Veteran interior designer and film producer Zarine Khan, wife of actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan and mother of Sussanne and Zayed Khan, has passed away at the age of 81 due to a heart attack.

Remembering her fondly, actor Priyanka Chopra shared an emotional note on her Instagram stories, and penned, “Will always remember you with the greatest joy and incredible energy.

You will be very missed, Zarine Aunty.” The actress also tagged Sussanne and Zayed Khan in her heartfelt post, expressing her support for the grieving family.

Zarine Khan shared a close bond with Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, and the two families had maintained a warm friendship over the years.

Also, filmmaker Karan Johar wrote on his Instagram Stories, “Prayers and thoughts with the family… Zarine aunty was the kindest and the warmest and will be missed by her loved ones, who were many….”Kajol penned, “What a heartwrenching loss… shocked and saddened. deepest condolences and prayers to the whole family (heartbreak emoji).”

Many Bollywood stars visited the residence of Zayed and Sussanne Khan to pay their final respects to Zarine Khan. Among those seen were Jaya Bachchan with her daughter Shweta Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Rani Mukerji, Hrithik Roshan, and Saba Azad. Shabana Azmi, Neelam Kothari, Rakul Preet Singh, and Jackky Bhagnani also came to offer their condolences to the Khan family.

Zarine Khan, wife of veteran actor Sanjay Khan, met him in the 1960s, and the two tied the knot in 1966. She was a devoted mother to Sussanne, Zayed, Simone Arora, and Farah Ali Khan.
