Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and the Vinayaka Gokak Vangmaya Trust are jointly organising the Prof. V.K. Gokak award ceremony on September 7.
The event will honour Anand V. Patil, a recipient of the Bal Sahitya award of the Kendra Sahitya Academy, who will be presented with the Prof. V.K. Gokak award.
The ceremony will take place at K.R.G. Hall, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road, at 10.30 a.m.
The award is a tribute to Prof. Vinayaka Krishna Gokak, a celebrated Indian writer and recipient of the Jnanpith Award. Among his many achievements, he headed the committee that recommended giving primacy to Kannada in schools.
