'Promised to marry her': 17-year-old girl strangled, stuffed in suitcase and dumped near tracks in Karnataka; 8 including minor arrested from Bihar

BENGALURU: Bengaluru rural police arrested eight persons including a minor on charges of murdering a 17-year-old-girl, stuffing her body in a suitcase and later dumping it near railway tracks close to Anekal.

The body was recovered on the morning of May 21 and preliminary police investigations had revealed that victim was strangled to death.Now, police discovered that victim had come from Bihar after her lover Aashiq Kumar, 42, promised to marry her. Victim was among seven daughters of daily wage couple. However, on May 20 night, Kumar, in inebriated condition, strangled her to death. With the help of his relatives including the minor, he stuffed the body inside the suitcase. All the suspects were holed up in Bihar and were arrested on Friday.
