The tendency to whittle down the significance of the Public Service Commissions (PSC) is gaining strength in the country, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said here on Thursday.
Inaugurating the 52nd State conference of the Kerala Public Service Commission Employees’ Union, Mr. Vijayan said that the very existence of Constitutional institutions are under threat at the national level.
In contrast, such institutions enjoy the freedom to function with impartiality and fairness in Kerala, he said.
The efficiency displayed by the Kerala Public Service Commission acts as a major support system for the weaker sections of society, he said.
The Kerala PSC exemplifies the vigilance shown by the State in the matter of social justice. The data on the advice memo issued by the PSC for appointments alone will prove its efficiency, he said.
Kerala PSC Employees’ Union State president K. Sebastian presided.
