In a major intelligence-led operation, the Amritsar Rural Police, working closely with central agencies, arrested two terror operatives and recovered a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) intended for a targeted terror attack in Punjab.
The accused have been identified as Mehakdeep Singh and Aditya. Preliminary investigations revealed that both were in contact with a Pakistan-based ISI operative, who had allegedly sent the weapon, as well as with Harpreet Singh, currently lodged in Ferozepur Jail.
According to SSP Amritsar Rural, Maninder Singh, “Under the directives of CM Bhagwant Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Special Cell of Amritsar Rural Police apprehended Mehak and Adi in connection with anti-national activities orchestrated by Pakistan’s ISI against Punjab.
