A Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Hong Kong made a precautionary emergency landing at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) following a “technical issue.”

Flight QR816 landed safely at around 2.32 p.m., and all passengers were reported safe. Airport officials said a full emergency was declared at 2.12 p.m. to facilitate the aircraft’s landing, which was subsequently withdrawn six minutes after touchdown at 2.38 p.m.

“Due to a technical issue on an aircraft en route from Doha to Hong Kong, a full emergency was declared to enable the aircraft to land safely. The aircraft landed without incident, and airport operations remained unaffected,” the airport said in an official statement.

Technical inspections are underway to determine whether the aircraft can continue its journey to Hong Kong. If not, Qatar Airways will deploy an alternate aircraft to minimise delay for passengers, sources said.
