The name 'Miquel' is a deep-felt tribute to Mery's father Miquel Perelló Mas, who passed away in April 2023 after battling a prolonged illness, at the age of 63. The family is honouring his memory with the name in a personal and emotional way. With the arrival of Miquel, the family now includes two children, with the elder one being Rafael Junior who is 2 years old.The name also holds biblical significance, as per The Bump. Miquel is a Hebrew name meaning "who resembles God?" and as the Hebrew version of the Biblical name, Michael is the name of one of the archangels who signifies the triumph of good over evil. Thus, in both personal and biblical sense, the name is perfect for the tennis legend's son.
