RaGa to address students’ conference in Patna on July 11

Patna: The Congress on Saturday announced a nationwide campaign against the Centre over issues such as paper leaks, examination irregularities and unemployment, with Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi set to hold a student conference in Patna on July 11.The announcement was made by AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal in a press statement. As part of the campaign, Rahul will hold a series of large student conventions across cities, beginning with Kota on June 17, followed by Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11 and Delhi on July 14.According to the party, the initiative aims to bring together students, competitive exam aspirants, youth organisations and educators affected by alleged examination malpractices.

The campaign will highlight hardships faced by young Indians due to paper leaks, rising exam costs and the alleged failure to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment and education system.Party sources said the venue for the Patna event is yet to be finalised, though the meeting with students is likely to be held in a hall.Meanwhile, the Bihar Congress staged a protest march in Patna on Saturday demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the

Led by state Congress president Rajesh Ram, party leaders claimed that 89 examination papers have been leaked over the past 12 years, alleging repeated lapses in maintaining exam integrity. They also alleged multiple leaks in NEET exams conducted by the

.“The BJP-led government has created a system where merit is compromised and opportunities are skewed. Poor students are being repeatedly denied a fair chance,” Ram said, accusing the Centre of failing to safeguard the education system.
