Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has said strong evidence on vote theft in Haryana, released on Wednesday by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, is shocking, and it raises serious doubts over the authenticity of the BJP’s recent election victories.
“The horror of #HaryanaFiles: people’s mandate being stolen by BJP. The strong evidence released by my brother Rahul Gandhi is shocking,” he said.
“The BJP came to power in 2014 by thriving on hate propaganda and false promises. Since then, people have stopped believing in its divisive politics. Now, going beyond electoral malpractice, they are tampering with electoral rolls and stealing the mandate of the people, as has come to light,” Mr. Stalin said in a post on X.
“What follows next is even more alarming, the organised disenfranchisement of citizens under the guise of Special Intensive Revision. Bihar stands as proof, and so do the explosive Haryana Files revealed today,” he said.
“It is painful that the Election Commission of India, which is supposed to be an independent body and functioning with the hard-earned money paid as taxes by the people of this country, has offered no explanation to citizens despite such a huge amount of evidence released so far,” Mr. Stalin said.
“Will it answer the people and revive the faith that democracy in India has not yet been fully buried,” he asked.
