HYDERABAD: Listed pediatric multi‑specialty and perinatal care hospital chain Rainbow Children’s Medicare Limited (RCML) on Monday announced its foray into the Northeast market through the acquisition of a majority stake in Guwahati-based Pratiksha Hospital at an enterprise valuation of Rs 171 crore.RCML said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 76% stake in Pratiksha Hospital, which was founded in 1995 by Dr Pramod Kumar Sharma and is engaged in IVF and minimal‑invasive gynaecology surgery.T
he transaction will be fully funded through its cash reserves and internal accruals, RCML said, adding that while it will acquire a 76% controlling stake, Dr Sharma and his family will retain the balance share.
The acquisition of the 150-bed Pratiksha Hospital will take the Hyderabad-headquartered RCML’s total capacity to around 2,185 beds across 21 hospitals in eight cities.Following the acquisition, the hospital will be rebranded as ‘Pratiksha Rainbow Children’s Hospital’ and integrated into Rainbow’s national network. The hospital will also be connected to Rainbow’s regional hubs in Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai to enable advanced referrals and access to specialized pediatric and maternal care across tertiary and quaternary care.
