Heavy rains that lashed for the last two days severely affected the normal life of residents in Arsikere and Channarayapatna taluks of Hassan district. The KSRTC bus stand in Arsikere town was flooded, making it difficult for the passengers waiting there to move around.
Many farmlands in Kanakatte and Banavara hoblis of Arsikere taluk were inundated. Similarly, many public structures were flooded by the incessant rains. Kanakatte and Banavara hoblis received 92.2 mm and 75.4 mm of rainfall respectively on Sunday. The showers continued on Monday as well, with the two hoblis registering 46.2 mm and 34.3 mm of rains on the day. Parts of Alur taluk, including Palya, received moderate rainfall.
In Channarayapatna taluk, villages around Hirisave hobli received heavy rains on Sunday. Many coconut plantations were flooded. Hirisave received 63.7 mm of rainfall on the day. Parts of Dandiganahalli, Baguru, and Nuggehalli hoblis also received moderate rainfall.
