Vipin, the brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was allegedly killed by his wife during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, arrived in Shillong to pursue justice for his deceased sibling and vowed to oppose the bail given to some of the accused in the case.

Vipin told mediapersons that he came to Shillong to obtain Raja’s death certificate and also expressed a wish to review his post-mortem report to better understand the circumstances surrounding his death.

Raja Raghuvanshi, a businessman from Indore, went missing on May 23 while honeymooning in Meghalaya with his wife Sonam. Days later, on June 2, his dismembered body was recovered from a deep gorge in the Sohra region of East Khasi Hills district. Sonam, who was presumed missing, was arrested from a roadside eatery in UP’s Ghazipur, after which she reportedly confessed to killing Raja.

Raja’s Brother To File Petition In Meghalaya HC

Vipin further said he will file a petition in the Meghalaya High Court on Wednesday to oppose the bail granted to the accused in the murder case. He expressed deep disappointment over the bail given to Lokendra Tomar, the owner of the flat in Indore where Sonam allegedly planned Raja’s murder, security guard Balbir and property broker Shilom James.

According to Vipin, Shilom James was granted bail despite clear allegations that he had tampered with the evidence, which he said he would point out to the court. He further said that the release of these three individuals had caused immense distress to Raja’s family.

Vipin also lashed out at Sonam’s brother Govind, accusing him of betraying the family’s trust. “On one hand, Govind expresses remorse for his sister’s actions and claims to stand with us in the pursuit of justice. On the other hand, he secretly came to Shillong and appointed legal counsel for his sister Sonam and Raja Kushwaha," he said.

Vipin announced that he will be visiting Sohra on Wednesday, the site where Raja was murdered, and will hold a prayer ceremony in his memory. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Sohra for helping uncover the truth in the murder case and asked for their support in ensuring justice.

Where Is Sonam Now?

Sonam Raghuvanshi remains lodged in Shillong jail in connection with Raja’s murder. According to officials, she has not received any family visitors so far and appears to be showing no remorse for her actions.
