Union defence minister Rajnath Singh addresses poll meeting in Bihar
Patna: Union defence minister Rajnath Singh alleged that the RJD had tarnished Bihar’s image globally and urged people not to allow the return of the ‘jungle raj’ of Lalu Prasad.Addressing an election rally in Darbhanga, Singh said the entire family of Lalu is accused of corruption.
“A former CM (Lalu) had to spend years in jail. Isn’t this a matter of shame for every Bihari?” Rajnath asked.
He also questioned the opposition manifesto and said the promise of providing govt jobs to every household is completely impractical and misleading.Referring to RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s threat of throwing Waqf (Amendment) Act into the dustbin, Rajnath said, “When PM Modi sent the money, he did not consider whether the woman or the farmer was a Muslim.
For him, everyone is the same. The opposition always lies about the Waqf Board. No one can repeal a law made in Parliament,” he said.Singh appealed to the people to decide whether they wanted a “developed Bihar” or the return of “jungle raj” and said, “No one can question the intentions of CM Nitish Kumar and PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi has enhanced India’s stature and prestige on the global stage.”Singh said, “The NDA govt in Bihar has done a lot of work for
women empowerment
. Our govt has opened the door for the poor, farmers, and women.”
Addressing another election rally at Barh in Patna district, he said, “Development was put on hold during the RJD and Congress rules. If anyone can break this hold, it’s only the NDA govt. We don’t want jungle raj, we want development.”Singh was scheduled to visit Chhapra, but his programme was cancelled due to the inclement weather caused by Cyclone Montha.
