Kannappa - Official Hindi Trailer
“To start with, I am not into either gods or devotees, and because of that, I would never ever watch a film which deals with such subject matter… I saw the original film four times in my college days, but I saw it for the hero, heroine, and songs—not for the subject. As Thinnadu, you didn’t just act, but you embodied a temple of faith like a high priest, wielding a ferocity that left me breathless,” Ram wrote. He further continued, “In the climax, where Thinnadu offers his eyes to stop the bleeding of the Shiva lingam, is where you ascended to heights of heart-wrenching acting—which normally is the kind of scene I would detest as an atheist—but I’m glad that you made me love it.
And your raw sincerity as you surrender to Shiva is a masterclass in the sincerity of emotional depth you expressed. Your face in those moments was a canvas of anguish with a painting of reverence.
”Ram Gopal Varma made it clear that while he originally intended to watch ‘Kannappa’ for Prabhas’s cameo, he is now buying tickets to see Vishnu. “All in all, people might be coming into the theatre for Prabhas, but now I am going to buy a ticket in the theatre to see you.”Vishnu Manchu's emotional messageVishnu became emotional reading the message and replied, “Ramu Garu! You just made me cry. I have been holding my tears for a long time—not to lose it—because I believed I could sail through. This has been one of the most challenging times in my life and everywhere I turned, everyone was either in doubt or full of hate.”About KannappaDirected by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa earned Rs 11 crores on its opening day.
