Ranchi: Woman among 3 held in district in two minors’ rape cases

RANCHI: Three persons, including a woman, were arrested for rape of two minor girls in separate incidents in the district, police said.A 40-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl and sent to the Birsa Munda Central Jail under judicial custody on Monday.

The child's medical examination was conducted and her statement recorded before the Child Welfare Committee, police said.The child was playing outside her home when the accused took her to an under-construction building and committed the crime. The family members were working at the agricultural field, the survivor's mother alleged in the FIR.In another case, two persons, including a woman, were arrested on Sunday for the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl in the district early in the day. The survivor was rescued and the two accused nabbed within six hours based on a complaint filed by the survivor's mother.
