Rasika Dugal on her toughest scene in Delhi Crime 3: Letting go is heartbreaking, even when you’ve moved on

One of the most popular web series, Delhi Crime, is back with its third season. The new season delves into the dark world of human trafficking and features Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, and Rajesh Tailang reprising their roles as Vartika Chaturvedi, Neeti Singh, and Bhupi.Revisiting a familiar role might seem effortless, but in storytelling, every season adds new layers to a character. Rasika Dugal found the process both challenging and rewarding as she stepped back into Neeti’s shoes. Talking about the scene that tested her the most, Rasika shared, “Several scenes were difficult in a beautifully challenging way. For example, when Devender comes to pick up his things from Neeti’s house, a space which once was theirs.

It’s a final goodbye. Both have moved on, but letting go is still heartbreaking.”

In a previous chat with us, while talking about her continued journey with the show, Rasika had shared that every return to Delhi Crime feels like reconnecting with an old part of herself. She said, “Every season, I find myself deeply attached to this part whenever I return to it. I’m often surprised by my emotional reaction. I’m a professional, I come back and do my job, but this show always draws me in in a very special way.

There’s a police officer I’ve been following since the first season. I shadow her each time, and even if it may not add much to the work anymore, I still do it as a ritual. It’s been such a beautiful experience to watch her grow, to watch Neeti evolve, and to see how much I’ve grown myself since 2018 when we started filming.”She had added, “Coming back to Delhi Crime always challenges me both as an actor and as a person. This season raises some difficult questions, and I’m proud to be part of a story that continues to provoke meaningful conversations.”
