The temple city of Tirupati is getting a facelift in preparation for ‘Yogandhra - 2025,’ a mega event that will be held across the State, in celebration of ‘International Yoga Day’ on June 21.

Public walls across the city are receiving a fresh coat of paint as local artists paint images depicting various yoga postures and asanas. The idea is to raise awareness among the people about the mega event and foster a sense of community and encourage participation.

In Kadapa district, Superintendent of Police E.G. Ashok Kumar highlighted the transformative power of yoga at an event held at the Police Parade Grounds in Kadapa on Sunday. The event saw staff from the Armed Reserve, Special Police, civil, and other wings officers attend.

“Police personnel often work under high-pressure conditions, leading to mental and physical strain. Incorporating yoga into our daily routines is not just beneficial but also essential”, Mr. Kumar said.

Participants took a pledge against drug abuse.
