Red Alert In Gujarat: Wet Week Ahead As IMD Predicts Heavy Rain | Check Forecast

IMD issues red alert for Gujarat, predicting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall till September 7. Saurashtra and Kutch to face intense downpours as monsoon activity intensifies.

As several states continue to reel under the impact of heavy downpours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall for Gujarat in the coming days.

The IMD has issued a red alert for several parts of Gujarat, warning of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the coming days. According to the IMD forecast, the state will experience rain till September 7, starting today.

“RED ALERT: GUJARAT. Heavy to extremely heavy rain forecast till 7 September, 2025. Gujarat Region (4–6 Sept) Saurashtra & Kutch (6–7 Sept) Stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel & stay safe!," IMD said in a post on X.

The alert has prompted authorities to advise residents to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travel.

According to the forecast, the Gujarat region is expected to receive intense rainfall between September 4 and 6, while Saurashtra and Kutch are likely to experience heavy downpours on September 6 and 7.

The red alert comes as monsoon activity intensifies across western India, bringing the risk of disruption to transport, power supply, and communication in affected regions.
