Red Cross Tirupati tops in state in CPR activity

The Tirupati unit of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) topped the list of districts in Andhra Pradesh by covering the largest number of beneficiaries in awareness programmes on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). As part of the ‘CPR Awareness Week’ observed from Oct 13 to 17, the district unit conducted 17 programmes, covering 6,550 participants, followed distantly by Anantapur (3,100), Srikakulam (2,883) and Visakhapatnam (2,430). In all, the week-long programme covered 29,050 individuals through 188 camps across the State.

Meanwhile, a delegation of IRCS Tirupati unit led by its chairman Daggumati Srihari Rao and comprising vice-chairman M.G. Mayur, treasurer Subba Rao, secretary Praneeth and life member Yugandhar, formally called on District Collector S. Venkateswar at the latter’s chamber on Wednesday.
