RED VELVET’s Wendy cancels concert in Atlanta, fans react strongly to news

RED VELVET member Wendy had been making rounds in the headlines and garnering a lot of praise after she left her older management agency and joined a new one. However, their recent actions regarding one of her concerts and called to public backlash and criticism online.

On October 27, her new management agency took to their social media accounts in order to share the devastating news with fans. They shared a post about how the concert, which was to be held in Atlanta, will be cancelled until further notice. Their official statement, which was posted online, read, “We regret to inform you that the 2025 Wendy 1st world tour <w:ealive> in Atlanta, originally scheduled for November 13, 2025, has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.The post further included an apology from the management agency about the mishap and that all of the people who have purchased the tickets for the date will be rightfully compensated. They stated that all of the people will receive reimbursement tickets due to the last-minute change.

Fans react

The last-minute change due to “unforeseeable circumstances” has left fans in a state of anger and frenzy. While many fans have been supportive of the idol, most have been demanding answers from the singer’s management agency.

Many have cited that no proper reason was shared in order to cancel the concert show. One comment read, “I hope you take this as a learning opportunity and stop milking Wendy fans for money. Please do better next time and conduct proper market research instead of blindly letting Fromm do things (and better yet, stop working with Fromm),” while another read, “Who's gonna pay for my hotel reservation and plane ticket????!!!! And I paid the VIP Wonder for Atlanta!!!!!!! How could you!!!”Many have also contemplated whether this was because of poor ticket sales, as much of her other venues, which have not yet been cancelled, have large spaces empty.
