Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta expressed confidence that the South India Regional Police Coordination Committee (RPCC) meeting will further strengthen the cooperation between the States in the future and that comprehensive results will be possible in public safety, law and order and protection.
The officers of the BSF, CRPF, CISF, CBI, NIA,NCB, ED, FRRO, IB, DRI, I4C across South Indian States of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Puducherry and police officers of special Central government agencies participated in the meeting.
In a meeting of DGPs of India in 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recommended that RPCC meetings must be held every year in five regions of India. As part of this year RPCC meeting, the officials have decided to make use of the advanced technology integration forensic capabilities in law enforcement.
Apart from that, the resolutions were taken for specialised approach to combat cyber and financial fraud, iIntensifying fight against narcotics, fugitives and smuggling, strengthening critical infrastructure and costal security and human resource development through training and welfare reforms.
The officials explained their experiences, problems they are facing and the solutions. Based on the suggestions given by the senior officials, the South Indian states resolved to formulate an action plan to move forward jointly.
