Simone Biles has become one of the few sports personalities to have opened up about her three cosmetic surgeries while she was battling body-image issues. Her admission came shortly after she mentioned the procedures in a TikTok video, which led fans to ask questions and speculate about what she had done.

Although she did not list the surgeries in the video itself, she later clarified them in responses to comments. The superstar gymnast, known for her honesty about mental health, said that speaking openly helps her feel lighter and more authentic. In an interview with People.com, Biles explained that she wanted young girls to understand that choosing cosmetic procedures is a personal decision and nothing to be ashamed of.

She revealed that she underwent a breast augmentation, lower blepharoplasty to reduce under-eye bags, and earlobe repair after her earrings were ripped out. “I also think it shows young girls that they have the right to their own choices, whatever they are, and that’s no shame added as well,” she said.

For Biles, the goal was to accept her body on her own terms.

Simone Biles also spoke about how she rebuilt her confidence after suffering from twisties during the Tokyo Olympics.

The condition, which causes gymnasts to lose track of their body in the air, forced her to withdraw from many events at the 2021 Games. In an interview with the league's official website, olympics.com the 28-year-old said she experienced twisties twice after Tokyo and had to work hard to feel secure again. “I feel like [there were] only one or two times where I got lost,” she said. She also added that her team helped her stay calm and focused.

“But we knew how to regulate all those emotions, feelings, and doubts that came with it. We didn’t freak out too much. We’re just like, ‘It’s okay. Let’s not panic. Let’s go back to basics. We’ll work our way up, and then, in a couple of days, you’re fine.’”Biles shared that her coach, Laurent Landi, encouraged her to trust the process and told her to ‘Go do double-doubles.’ She also admitted that she sometimes worried about getting lost again if she wasn’t fully focused. Despite these fears, Biles returned stronger and delivered an incredible performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won three gold medals and one silver.
