Genesis frontman and legendary rock icon Phil Collins recently made a rare public comment to update fans on his health and what has been going on in his life. During a recent interview, the renowned singer shared that, while he has been dealing with a lot, he is on a path to recovery.

Collins recently sat down for a talk with the BBC, where he opened up about his everyday life, along with how his health has been since the last update. He clarified that he has been through a lot of things in the past couple of years in the context of his health. He added that while the last ‘18 months’ have been much better for him, the time before that was quite hard for him to deal with.Adding more context, he shared that “Before that, not so good.

Everything healthwise caught up with me at the same time, and whatever could go wrong did go wrong. But everything's fine now.” Collins also gave a little insight into what was going on with his health, sharing that “I had problems with my knee, which I had for a while, but I played through it, toured through it. But eventually I had to have a knee operation, and I had to have [it] five times because it kept either getting infected or it broke, you know.

So I was inactive for a long time.”

Phil Collins hints at a possible musical return

During the interview, the drummer was also asked about his upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The induction is set to take place in November later this year. He revealed that he had been asked by the firm to perform at his ceremony later on; however, he cited that he had to pass up the opportunity in order to focus on her health. He added, “I can't really see it happening, but I'm healthier now than I have been for quite a while.

As to whether he will return to the music scene or not, the actor gave a little hope to longtime fans of the musician. He added that he is "constantly saying to myself, ‘I gotta go back down to my studio at home.’ I've got lots of lyrical ideas I write down. And there are things that are half-formed, and a couple of things that are finished. So there are things that I can get my teeth into to start working on.”For the unversed, Collins retired as a drummer back in 2022, citing that his health was deteriorating at the time and that he would be unable to continue. He has also had knee surgery. While he has mainly stayed away from the limelight for the most part, there have been occasions where the famed musician has been seen attending public events with the help of crutches.
