Rockstar Games is bringing back its iconic Western adventure Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-themed expansion Undead Nightmare to a wide range of platforms on December 2, 2025.
The gaming studio is introducing the game on Netflix Games, iOS, Android, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. This is the first time that Red Dead Redemption will be available on mobile devices and the Netflix users will be able to play the game at no extra cost via the Netflix Games app. The release of the game also includes some free upgrades for the present owners of PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The free upgrade will also give seamless access to the enhanced versions of the newer hardware.
Performance upgrades introduced across platforms
The updated version of the Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will include the following upgrades:
- Up to 4K resolution and 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
- HDR support for improved visuals
- DLSS technology on Nintendo Switch 2
- Touchscreen controls for iOS and Android
- Mouse input support on select platforms
All the above mentioned enhancements aims to offer a smoother and more immersive gaming experience while preserving the rich storytelling of the original game. The Netflix users can download and play the game on iOS and Android without ads or in-app purchases. This move by Rockstar Games also leads to the expansion of Netflix’s gaming portfolio. The release includes the full Undead Nightmare expansion, offering a supernatural twist on the Red Dead universe with zombie hordes, mythical creatures, and survival-based gameplay.
Red Dead Redemption: Availability and access
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be available starting December 2, 2025, across:
- Netflix Games (iOS and Android)
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- Nintendo Switch 2
Existing digital owners of the PS4, Xbox One, or Switch versions will receive free upgrades to the enhanced editions.
