SUBSCRIBE NOW!The Sharad Pawar Cricket Museum will be inaugurated on August 23, and the public will be able to visit it from September 22.MCA president Ajinkya Naik revealed that Rohit has donated prized personal memorabilia from India’s 2023 ODI World Cup campaign. “India captain Rohit Sharma has donated his jersey and bat from the 2023 ODI World Cup, and they will soon be put on display here,” Naik told Mid-day.Rohit led India in the ODI World Cup held at home, guiding the Men in Blue to an unbeaten run until the final in Ahmedabad, where they fell to Australia by six wickets. Despite the heartbreak, his aggressive captaincy and impactful batting made the campaign one to remember, and his World Cup gear now finds a permanent place in Mumbai’s cricketing heritage.

The museum is set to showcase not only Rohit’s memorabilia but also contributions from several Mumbai and Indian cricket greats. Designed with spotlights and original jerseys on display, the first floor will house a replica dressing room that recreates the atmosphere of a professional team enclosure. The adjoining library features a rare collection of cricket literature, including titles not found in conventional bookstores.Adding to the historic ambience, the museum flooring has been crafted using a tiled mat of heritage value. Outside, a statue of Sunil Gavaskar will greet visitors, paying tribute to one of Mumbai cricket’s finest icons.
