A team of police personnel attached to the Kalasipalya Police Station managed to nab a 25-year-old rowdy-sheeter and two of his associates amidst high drama in Krishnappa garden on Wednesday.

The accused Shazad Pasha, who has over five criminal cases pending against him, had jumped bail and was on the run. He was tracked down with two of his associates, Yaseen Shariff and Anas Pasha. The court had issued non-bailable warrant against the accused.

Based on a tip-off, the team, comprising assistant sub-inspector Srinivasamurthy, went to secure his arrest and surrounded him. The police warned Shazad to surrender, but the trio allegedly started resisting and tried to flee.

In a bid to escape, Anas allegedly pulled out a machete and hit himself shouting at Shazad and Yaseen to escape, while charging at the police party.

The police team overpowered Anas and chased and pinned down Shabaz and Yaseen. They were bundled to the Tilak Nagar police station, and a case was filed against the trio under the Arms Act.
