The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the exam dates for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2025. According to the notification, the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Level-1 posts will be conducted from November 17, 2025, until the end of December 2025 in multiple phases.
The recruitment drive, under CEN-08/2024, aims to fill 32,438 vacancies in various departments of Indian Railways. Candidates will need to download their admit cards just days before the exam, while the city intimation slips will be issued well in advance to help plan travel.
RRB Group D exam schedule and format
The RRB Group D CBT will begin on November 17, 2025, and continue till the end of December 2025. The examination will be conducted in multiple shifts across different zones to accommodate the large number of candidates.
The CBT will comprise questions from General Science, Mathematics, General Awareness, and General Intelligence & Reasoning. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes, with negative marking of 1/3 for every wrong answer.
Admit card and city intimation slip
Candidates must closely monitor their respective regional RRB websites. The city intimation slip, which reveals the exam city and date, will be issued about 10 days before the exam. The admit card or hall ticket will be available for download four days prior to the exam date.
For example, candidates scheduled for November 17 can expect their city slip on November 7 and admit card by November 13. Both documents are mandatory for entry into the exam center.
RRB Group D selection process
The RRB Group D 2025 recruitment will be carried out in the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Candidates will first appear for the CBT, which tests knowledge of Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness, and Reasoning.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Shortlisted candidates from the CBT must clear the PET to demonstrate physical fitness as per RRB norms.
- Document Verification (DV): Eligible candidates will undergo verification of educational certificates, identity proofs, and other required documents.
- Medical Examination: Finally, candidates will undergo a medical fitness test to ensure they are fit for railway duties.
