Actors Shilpa Shetty Kundra and businessman Raj Kundra have approached the Bombay High Court seeking the quashing of a criminal case filed against them by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in the Rs 60-crore cheating case. The writ petitions were filed through their counsel, Advocate Prashant Patil, who is representing the couple in the matter.

According to reports, the case pertains to allegations investigated by the EOW in connection with a financial dispute involving one of Raj Kundra’s business ventures. The couple has sought relief from the court, arguing that the proceedings initiated by the EOW are unjustified and have caused them undue hardship.

The petitions were filed before a division bench of the Bombay High Court, which is expected to hear the matter in the coming days. Advocate Prashant Patil confirmed that the plea seeks to quash the criminal proceedings in their entirety, citing lack of sufficient evidence to substantiate the charges.

Neither Shilpa Shetty nor Raj Kundra has made a public statement on the matter so far. The case is likely to be listed for hearing shortly, following which the court will decide whether the investigation should continue or be set aside.
