RSS Chief Endorses Three-Child Norm For Families: ‘Hum Do, Humaare Teen'

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that families in India should ideally have three children, arguing that it benefits both family life and the country’s demographic balance.

“Having three children is important. In families with three children, they learn to manage ego and interpersonal dynamics," Mohan Bhagwat said. He added that India’s recommended population policy is 2.1 children per family, but since “0.1 child is not possible, this effectively means three."

While acknowledging that population concerns must be addressed and that children should be adequately provided for, Mohan Bhagwat stressed that families should have three children but no more.
