Leaders of the AP Public Transport Department (APSRTC) Employees’ Union on Tuesday expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for approving long-pending promotions in APSRTC.
In a statement, union State president P. Damodara Rao said that although RTC was merged with the government on January 1, 2020, the previous administration did not grant permission for promotions due to various reasons. Since the formation of the TDP-led coalition government, the union had been requesting promotions from the rank of Assistant Mechanic up to Executive Director. RTC Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumalar Rao responded positively to their plea and forwarded the file to the government for approval.
Mr. Damodara Rao and the union’s State general secretary G.V. Narasayya said the decision would benefit around 3,000 employees who have been waiting for promotions for the past six years.
