'Run for Life’ marathon brings together diverse age groups in Salt Lake

Salt Lake witnessed a vibrant 5 km marathon, 'Swapranah Trishnah – Run for Life,' fostering physical fitness and social responsibility. Organized by Towards Life Foundation and EIILM–Kolkata, the event saw enthusiastic participation across all age groups. Actresses Ishaa Saha and Priyanka Sarkar graced the occasion, highlighting the quest for a better, more compassionate society through community action.

A socially themed 5 km marathon titled ‘Swapranah Trishnah – Run for Life: Quest for a Better Life’ was held in Salt Lake on Sunday morning, bringing together participants from across age groups and backgrounds.

The event was organised by Towards Life Foundation in association with EIILM–Kolkata, with support from the British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata.The run was flagged off from Salt Lake and saw enthusiastic participation from children, youth, adults and senior citizens, underlining the inclusive nature of the initiative. People from different walks of life took part in the marathon, which aimed to highlight the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being and social responsibility.

Actor Ishaa Saha and Priyanka Sarkar, along with several dignitaries, were present at the event and interacted with participants, lending visibility to the cause. The organisers said the marathon was designed not only as a fitness activity but also as a platform to encourage community engagement and collective action.The marathon concluded with participants reiterating the need for sustained efforts towards building a healthier, more compassionate society through community-led initiatives.
