Patriotic fervour swept through Chittoor and Sri Sathya Sai districts on Friday (October 31, 2025) as police personnel, students, and officers came together to participate in the “Run for Unity” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the Iron Man of India.
In Chittoor, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi flagged off the run from Gandhi Circle to PVKN Government Degree College. Hundreds of participants running in unison, holding banners celebrating “Unity in Diversity,” was a treat to watch for onlookers.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Dudi recalled Sardar Patel’s monumental task in bringing together more than 550 princely States under the Indian Republic after Independence. “His resolve and honesty shaped the India we live in today,” he said, calling on officers to carry forward those values. The participants took a unity pledge later. The SP distributed prizes to the winners in various competitions.
In Puttaparthi of Sri Sathya Sai district, Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar flagged off the run from the Ring Road junction to the District Police Office. “Patel’s courage and conviction turned a divided land into one nation. His life reminds us that true strength lies in unity,” the SP said.
