While talking to the BBC, Davies opened up about how he addresses serious topics with a humorous manner in most of his shows. Detailing more on his process, he added that "I see the world getting worse and worse these days, to be honest. I am very worried about the future for my nieces and nephews."As to whether he wishes for the show to bring light to issues, Davies only said that he wishes we lived in such a reality. “I wish television could change the world. I'd have written more and changed it faster if I could. I do feel bound to comment on the world, though,” he commented further on.Further on talking about the show, Davies included that one of the highlights of ‘Tip Toe’ was the fact that Alan Cumming was leading it. He cited that he had been attempting to cast the famous actor in one of his projects for the past 20 years.

But we don't know how it happened, or when it happened in the story. It's really clever, it's suspenseful.”

The TV series follows Alan Cumming, who plays Leo Struthers, a 59-year-old man who owns a bar in Manchester's Gay Village.
