SRIKAKULAM
The Rythu Coolie Sangham of Andhra Pradesh will hold a public meeting on October 31, 2025, to highlight the hardships faced by tribal people, farmers and farm labourers, who have been migrating in search of livelihood to other places due to the absence of local opportunities said, State secretary Dantuluri Varma on Thursday. The meeting will be held in the afternoon at the bypass center of Srikakulam-Amadalavalasa junction.
Addressing the media he said that the association’s State president Simhadri Jhansi along with other leaders will pay tributes to tribal leaders Koranna and Manganna who sacrificed their lives on October 31, 1967 while fighting to protect the rights of tribal people being exploited by dominant sections, traders and influential persons in those days.
Mr. Varma added that there has been no improvement in the lives of the downtrodden sections in the last six decades despite a number of policies and schemes by the Union and State governments. He highlighted that if the government focused on irrigation projects and created livelihood opportunities locally farmers and tribals would be able to lead happy life.
