Salman Khan is set to enter the superhero genre with a high-concept film directed by ‘The Family Man’ creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.. Marking his first collaboration with the duo, the ambitious project is being produced by Atul Agnihotri, while Mythri Movie Makers is in discussions to come on board as a studio partner.According to Pinkvilla, the project is currently in its pre-production phase, with the team focusing on scale, visual design, and technical detailing. According to reports, the makers are targeting a start date around October 2026. One report stated, “It’s a big-budget superhero film designed for a global audience. The team is aiming to begin filming by October 2026, once all pre-visualisation and prep work is in place.
”Casting for the female lead remains undecided at this stage. While there were earlier rumours linking Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the project, sources have clarified that these reports are inaccurate. The makers are currently evaluating multiple options and are expected to lock the leading lady within the next couple of months.
Other projects in Salman Khan’s pipeline
Apart from this superhero venture, Salman Khan is also working on an untitled action film directed by Vamshi Paidipally, with Nayanthara playing the female lead.
The film is planned for an Eid 2027 release and is backed by Dil Raju, along with producers Shirish, Kuldeep Rathore and co-producer Rafi Kazi.He will also be seen in Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Previously referred to as ‘Battle of Galwan’, the war drama is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces. The film features Chitrangada Singh and Abhilash Chaudhary in key roles, with shooting schedules completed across Ladakh and Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan has taken over social media after his surprise appearance as Jiva Mahala in Ritesh Deshmukh starrer ‘Raja Shivaji’ caught fans off guard. Admirers of the superstar have been flooding X (previosly Twitter) and Instagram with screenshots and clips from the film, praising his intense look featuring an orange turban, kurta, and a Maratha sword, with many calling his brief role one of the movie’s biggest highlights.
