New Delhi: Samsung has officially started to tease its major software optimization for its next-generation foldable devices by highlighting that popular applications like Instagram, Netflix, and YouTube have been especially redesigned to take advantage of the latest re-shaped Galaxy Z Fold. However, Samsung hasn’t revealed any official details, but with multiple teasers and reports, it offers a clearer picture of this upgrade.
Samsung has recently released videos showing that it has worked directly with Meta, Netflix, and YouTube to optimize these applications for its upcoming foldable device. Samsung stated that the applications are tailored for its re-shaped foldable, a phrase widely believed to refer to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 with the wider display.
Samsung is moving away from the narrow cover display seen on earlier Fold models. Rather than the Galaxy Z Fold 8, it is expected to feature a wider cover display and a tablet-like inner screen, with better aspect ratios for applications and multimedia.
It reduced black bars while streaming videos, made typing more comfortable, and allowed multitasking. On Instagram, it was reshaped with wider photos and Reel viewing. With improved split-screen experience, better use of larger inner display for browsing feeds and Stories. Netflix comes with more immersive video playback and better scaling for the wider foldable screen. It also comes with improved multitasking while streaming content. On YouTube, it will have a larger playback area. With better support for multitasking, along with the comments or other applications. Enhanced landscape viewing on the foldable display.
Samsung hasn’t officially revealed every feature yet, but the teasers emphasize that these applications will make better use of the latest display shape instead of simply stretching content.
