Sancoale panchayat secy suspended over ‘irregularities’

Vasco: The director of panchayats suspended Sancoale panchayat secretary Orville C Vales with immediate effect, pending disciplinary action. Vales is under the scanner following allegations of irregularities.Raising the issue on the floor of the House, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai had asked why Vales was not suspended despite the adverse reports against him.Director of panchayats Siddhi Halarnkar initiated action after complaints of his alleged irregularities surfaced. In one of the complaints, it was alleged that Vales issued a construction licence to an applicant without NOCs, while intentionally delaying or rejecting similar applications from others.Halarnkar has directed Vales to report to the office of block development agency till his suspension remains in force.
