The Sri Sathya Sai District Police are preparing a series of programmes to observe the Police Martyrs Commemoration Week from October 21 to 31, 2025, honouring the sacrifices of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday (October 19), Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar said that the annual observance is to pay homage to martyrs, and dedicated to creating awareness about the crucial responsibilities of the police in ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.

The week will commence on October 21 with a Martyrs’ Memorial Parade and floral tributes at the district police martyrs’ memorial. From October 22 to 30, police teams will visit the native villages of martyrs, interact with locals, and encourage naming of public places or development works in their memory, the SP said.

Mr. Satish Kumar said that between October 24 and 27, essay, debate, and elocution contests will be held for students and children of police officers on topics related to cybercrime prevention and environmental protection. Police bravery films will be screened on October 26, while open house programmes showcasing police weapons, investigation tools, and dog squads will be organised at police stations on October 26 and 27.

Medical camps and blood donation drives are scheduled for October 28, followed by seminars and cultural events on police service and sacrifice on October 29. Families of police martyrs will be felicitated on October 30, and the week will conclude on October 31 with unity run and a candlelight rally across the district, the SP added.
